Bouwdokken PPA – AkzoNobel DSM Google Philips

For the PPA of Bouwdokken, Wind4ind assisted AkzoNobel and Philips in the closing of this major PPA.

Bouwdokken is located in the South-West of the Netherlands at the border of the sea. See picture on the left. The name Bouwdokken means building docks. These Bouwdokken were used to construct the dike separating the river from the sea.

The windturbines will be placed at the dikes of the old building docks. See picture on the right. Windconditions at this location are excellent. Up to nine turbines or in total 34 MW will be placed. The number of full load hours per year are high given the near sea location, meaning a larger than usual MWh/year volume.

Wind4ind assisted AkzoNobel and Philips on the wind PPAs. After having helped construct the consortium, Wind4ind identified several windfarms for long-term Power Purchase Agreements. Wind4ind approached the Bouwdokken and assisted in the dealmaking with the windfarm.

The deal is highly attractive for the windfarm developer, E-connection, for financing given the reliability of the offtakers and the structure of the Bouwdokken PPA.

For the offtakers, AkzoNobel, DSM, Google and Philips,  the PPA deal of Bouwdokken was created such, that it provided atttractive long-term green power.
